Selma (Song) 03:41
Selma Selma, leave me here March on, March on I'll pick up the rear Your hair disheveled, your legs they are strong I'll catch up with you before too long Selma Selma I'll meet you there And Free we'll be on Capitol square I'll kiss yr neck, I'll squeeze yr hand And Love you better as a free man Keep eyes forward, yr legs they are love Selma Selma, we've got to move Selma Selma, yr legs they are love Selma Selma, we've got to move

Noahs Lullabye Let your dreams follow you Into slumber from your life Keep the nightmares fare away In the madness of the light Sleep, don't be afraid my love The world you want will meet you there Sleep, don't be afraid my love I will meet you there

After a long and lonely winter here in Louisville Spring is opening just like a dream There is music in the cafes down on Oak Street There is Triumph underneath the cardinals wing Can you believe after such prolonged abuse Spring has the will (nerve) to come? After a long and lonely winter here in Louisville Theres purples and pinks in Cherokee The bars open their doors to the patios There short skirts and dresses at the University After a long and lonely winter here in Louisville You Guessed it! Theres dancing all around So hop on a boat and swing a stranger Hop on your sweetheart and go to town

After a long winters haul I felt Ivy crawl Along forgotten walls An Ivy bathed in milk Soft as breath and light as silk Along the red red brick If you want to find me I'll be wrapped up in the Ivy All wrapped up in Ivy Ivy of the Valley Thats where I will travel A place filled with milk and (of course) honey If you really need to find me I'll be wrapped up in the Ivy

We are building, city upon city without grace We are building, city upon city without grace City upon city, often raized Too much rubble to see his(its) face Let it lay fallow, let it lay empty, just a little while Even the best land must lay fallow part of the year Even the best land must lay fallow part of the year Without rest, it cannot hear All the prayers sung for its ears Let it lay fallow, let it lay empty, just a little while Dear Elijah, without success, tried to come home Poor Elijah, without success, tried to come home To much darkness in his day River of blood in his way Let it lay fallow, let it lay empty, just a little while

C G C One day Ahab and his men a sitting at the bar C G C Ahab said I'll not rest, I'll chase whale near and far C F C The men red faced and joyful, filling up on rum F C G C They did not see the shadows holding whale sized guns Humpback Herschel and Harry marched into the room They smelled of salt and krill and hibiscus perfume They just returned from a swell Hawaiian orgy And weren't to pleased to hear Ahab and his awful story Ahab made a motion, and his crew did gather round The bar grew silent and made an awful sound Ahab pulled his harpoon and the Humbacks pulled theirs too It didn't take too long to wipe out all of Ahabs crew E Am Sailing on the ocean line, you might just see Those who murder in thousands for vice and gluttony The nets and sails and salty tales, the whaling cavalry D G At least until they meet their doom At the fins of Humpback Herschel and Harry Old Svend Foyn from Norway was a naughty, naughty man Many a whale died by his mind if not by his hand His ship the Spes et Fides brought many a whale to doom 86 tons, 7 knots, and exploding harpoon He's said to have brought riches to cold icy Norway Funded an arctic exploration, eased workers on their way But all of that meant nothing to the bloated rotting whale And pumped the vengeful blood through Humback Harry and Hershel They sailed on out to Tonsberg to put Svend in his grave It was many a Nautical mile and many a treacherous wave Coming upon the ship where Svend Foyn stood on deck They pointed the cannon at the sails, put their fins on his neck Sailing on the ocean line, you might just see Those who murder in thousands for vice and gluttony The nets and sails and salty tales, the whaling cavalry At least until they meet their doom At the fins of Humpback Herschel and Harry Its been said that the Japanese have whaled since the 12th Century That makes nearly 1000 years of murder in the first degree Many have claimed the Humpbacks hold a murderous grudge But Humpback Herschel and Harry claim they're just jury and judge The International Court of Justice has 20 years said You cannot killed the baleened ones and make the oceans red And Greenpeace sails alone, a gruesome story they do tell While far beneath the oceans top plot Humpback Harry and Herschel Its been sometime since those two have staged a grave attack But every son of a sailor knows the two will be back They may have been recruiting and plotting a way Be sure to listen for their battle song when you stand upon the shore Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

about

All songs captured live On the Rocks down the creek from The Hundred Proof Fountain at Art+Fm studios in Louisville, Kentucky by DJ GreenEyes and Captain Scratch.

Most of the songs on this album were written specifically for the radio program Hundred Proof Fountain. It was a little experiment to see if I could write a song every week.
